As the Exton Kings continue the season into November, let’s look back and recap the October action.

10U A National

The Kings are 3-2-1 with 14 points to end October. They are in 2nd place in the division behind Genesis Hockey Club McGinty 24pts. The Hershey Jr. Bears are right on the heels of the Kings with 12 points, followed by the Quakers 8, Chester County Cougars 4, Snider Hockey 2. The Kings had two league games in October, a 6-5 loss to the Bears and a 5-1 win against Snider Hockey. In the Bears loss, Blake Daugherty had 4 goals, and Evan Miller had 1. In the 5-1 win against Snider, Daugherty stayed hot with 2 goals, as Miller, Travis Blaine, and Dom Valerio all scored as well. Okonski picked up the win in net. Daugherty continues his stellar season and now has 12 goals and 4 asst, followed by Evan Miller 7G 2A, Valerio 3G 5A, and Andrew Zajac 2G 3A.

10UB

The Kings are in 1st place in the division! They are 8-2 with 32 points and impressively scored 109 goals and only given up 16. In 2nd are the Central Penn Panthers 20 points. It was a rough start to October with losses to the Panthers 7-2, and Flyers Youth 3-1, but then they rebounded with three straight shut-out wins. The Kings defeated the Quakers 14-0,and 15-0 and then ended the month with a 13-0 win against the Philadelphia Little Flyers. The Kings’ strength is their depth in scoring. They have 10 players with 10 points or more. Leading the way is  Wyatt Winnemore 18G 3A, Colton Herr 13G 7A, Olivia Waldron 14G 5A, Declan Barker 11G 4A, Ryan Eden 8G 4A, Aidan Cramer 9G 3A. Goaltender Luke Hutnick has an impressive 1.81 GAA.

12U A American

The Kings are in 6th place with a 3-6 record and 11 points. The Hershey Jr. Bears lead the division at 8-0. The Kings went 2-3 in October. Their wins were against Snider Hockey 5-4 in overtime, and Chester County Cougars 4-1. In the win vs Snider Hockey, Porter Stofflet had 2 goals, Isaiah Thomas and James Wright had 1 each. Owen Gofus scored the game winner in overtime and Quinten Blackman picked up the win in net. In the 4-1 win vs the Cougars the special teams was the key difference. Gofus and Thomas both scored shorthanded, Beckett Cook and Sean Hand also scored in the victory, while Blackman added another win in net. The Kings are led by Stofflett  7G 7A, Thomas 7G 4A, Hand 7G 4A, and Gofus 4G 1A.

12U A National

The Kings are in the middle of the division in 4th place at 2-6-1. Ahead of them are the Delmarva Raptors 32pts, Delco Phantoms 29pts, Philadelphia Little Flyers 19pts. The Kings went 1-3 in October. Their lone win was on the road against the Little Flyers 7-4. Tristan Malcom and Tyler Neff had 2 goals each, while Bentley Albert, Cavan McGovern and Parker Unruh also scored. Julian Guarneri had the win in net. Leading scorers for the Kings are Ethan Duffield 7G 2A, Neff 3G 5A, Unruh 4G 3A, Malcom 4G 3A.

12U AA

The Kings are 3-7 with 12 points and in 7th in the division. They went 2-4 in October with two wins against the Quakers 4-0, and 3-2. Ryan Menzel, John Burke, Lennox Negron, Ottaviano Ricketts all scored as Graham Watkins earned the shut-out. In the 3-2 win, Ricketts, Burke, and Ryan Farrell all tallied for the Kings. In overall scoring, the Kings are led by Ryan Menzel 5G 1A, Lennox Negron 4G 1A, Ryan Farrell 3G 2A, and Ottaviano Ricketts 3G 2A.

14U A American

The Kings had a rough start to the season going 0-3  but had a much better October. They went 2-2-1 with wins against the Campus Wild 7-1, the Quakers 7-6 and also a 3-3 tie vs the Wilkes-Barre Jr. Penguins. In the win vs the Wild, the Kings scorers included Mark Mannherz 2 goals, Keegan Vaughn, Nivaan Chaddha, Warner Bennett 1G 3A, Chris Marmaliuc, and Charles Sposetti. Connor Millard made 19 saves in the win. It was a crazy game vs the Quakers. Sposetti had two goals including the game winner. Also scoring was Bennett, Bryce Riberio, Mannherz, Collin Hoffman, and Marmaliuc. The Kings looked down and out against the Penguins down 3-0 but they fought back with 3 goals in the 3rd period. Riberio, Hoffman, and Sposetti all scored to tie the game. This season, the Kings are led by Mannherz 4G 6A, Sposetti, 6G 4A, Marmaliuc 5G 3A, Vaughn 5G 3A, and Riberio 4G 1A.

14U AA

The Kings are 1-7 and 4th in the division. Their lone win of the month came against the Campus Wild. Nick Tode led the way with 2 goals and Jonathan Bonshock, Cody Leman, and Cole Daugherty all scored for the Kings. Logan Fedon made 24 saves in the win. The Kings were just short against the Delco Phantoms in a 4-3 loss. Bonshock, Tode, and Leman scored in the game. The leading scorers for the Kings are Leman 4G 3A, Leonardo Nino 2G 2A, Brody Martin 3G 1A, Jackson Bogus 3A, Logan Kwiatkowski 1G 2A.

14UB

It was not a good month for the Kings as they went 0-5 and are 0-9 overall. Connor Hill 2G 1A, and Ryan Lutz 2G are the leading scorers for the Kings. Despite the struggles the Kings continue to work hard and develop as their goal is to get better as a team.

16U A American

The Kings are 2-6 in 5th place in the division. They didn't win a game in October but picked up their second win of the year (technically in November) 3-1 over the Quakers. Gavin Voigt had 2 goals, and William Fairbanks had the other. The leading scorers are Michael Stine 2G 3A, Rock Zheng 1G 3A, Gavin Voigt 2G 1A, Ciaran Sweeney 2G.

16U A National

The Kings had a great October going 3-0 with wins against Delco Phantoms Pitel 5-1, Genesis Hockey Club O’Neil 5-4, and 6-2 over Delco Phantoms Hahn. Lucas Fleuty was in net for all 3 wins. Overall, they are 4-0-1 in 2nd place in the division. One of the strengths the Kings have is their depth in scoring. No one  is piling up points, but instead they have a balanced attack that has led to success. The leading scorers are Connor Bradly 4G 5A, Jayden Goldyn 2G 3A, Patrick Anderson 5G, Jack Baran 2G 3A, Matthew Townsley 3G.

Kings Fest

On behalf of the staff and management of the Exton Kings, thank you! Kings Fest 2023 was a big success! Despite the cloudy and rainy weather, it was a great time. It wasn’t just the kids who had fun, the coaches got in on the action and braved the dunk tank as they were at the mercy of their own players. Everyone enjoyed themselves and shared some laughs. The raffles raised more money for the Kings Scholarship Fund than any other year. The new team merchandise was a big hit. James Witherite, a local broadcaster from Delaware, gave everyone a great experience with his public address announcing, music, singing and it created a great atmosphere for the whole day. Thank you to everyone who participated. Thank you to everyone who helped make Kings Day special. The next event coming up is Kings Alumni Weekend on November 25th. Tournament Recap

The Kings 10UB Team competed in the Silver Sticks Tournament. The Kings went 3-1 but missed the finals by 1 point. The Kings defeated the Hollydell Hurricanes 8-0, Snider Youth 3-0, and the Wilmington Nighthawks 6-0. Luke Hutnick was stellar in net and earned 3 shutouts. The lone loss was against Wissahickon 4-2. Against the Hurricanes, Declan Catto was key on defense and slowed down the Hurricanes attack and added 2 assists in the game. Olivia Waldron worked hard to keep the Kings in striking distance and scored 2 goals in the loss to Wissahickon. Brock Monsilovich played great defense against the Nighthawks. He blocked shots all game and had a goal and an assist. Here’s what coach Tom Gibson had to say about his team. “These guys play really well as a team and shut down the other team’s break outs, disrupting plays, being in the right place offensively, knowing who to cover defensively. I’ve had a lot of fun coaching this group and watching them continue to develop each week.”

The Kings 12U A American Team were runners up in the Liberty Fall Classic in Philadelphia.  The Kings went undefeated in the round robin 2-0-2 but lost to the Quakers in the Championship Game. Quinten Blackman anchored the net throughout the tournament.  Isaiah Thomas, Beckett Cook, Owen Gofus and Porter Stofflet led the offense for the Kings. The Kings had great team defense, and they were led by Sean Hand who also added 3 goals.  Overall, it was a solid team effort!

14U A American ended their Columbus Day Clash in Pittsburgh with a 2nd place finish . They went 2-1-1 and came up short with a hard-fought game in the Championship losing 4-3 to the Montgomery Ice Devils.  Mark Mannherz led the Kings with 6 goals, followed by 3 from Charlie Sposetti and 2 from Kenny Sykes in the tournament.

14U AA also traveled to Pittsburgh for the Columbus Day Clash.  The Kings went 2-2 and finished in 3rd place.  Brody Martin had a great tournament scoring 5 goals and added 2 assists. Other standouts for the weekend include Greg Butler 2G 1A, Nick Tode 2G 1A.
