It was another action-packed month for the Kings, let’s look back at November throughout the organization.

10U A National

The Kings are 3rd in the division with a record of 4-1-1 with 18 points. They are behind Genesis HC McGinty 28 points, and the Hershey Jr. Bears 28 points. The only game that the Kings won in November was a crazy 8-7 win against the Chester County Cougars. Evan Miller, Blake Daugherty, and Brayden Miller all had 2 goals each. The Kings led 8-2 at one point during the game, then the Cougars fought back. The Kings buckled down late to hold them off and hang on for the win. After that win, the Kings fell short in a 4-1 loss to Genesis HCM and 7-5 to the Bears. The Kings held their own against the Bears, Dom Valerio scored twice, and his second goal tied the game 5-5, but the Bears answered back to win 7-5. Other scorers in the game were Blake Daugherty, Abby Lang, and Jacob Ray. The Kings only have one game left in 2023, when they take on the Quakers at Power Play Rinks on Dec. 17th. The Kings leading scorers are Daugherty 15G 4A, Valerio 7G 6A, E. Miller 9G 3A, Jacob Ebright 1G 6A, Andrew Zajac 2G 3A.

10U B

The Kings are 9-3 and tied for 1st place in the division with the Central Penn Panthers 9-2, (The Kings have one game in hand). The Kings went 1-1 in November. They lost to the Panthers 6-4 but rebounded with a strong 9-4 win against the Wilmington Nighthawks. Against the Nighthawks, the Kings started the game with 6 straight goals. Colton Herr, and Kaylynn Bean both had two goals. Declan Catto, Aiden Craner, Wyatt Winnemore, Blaine Okeefe, and Brady Menasion also scored. The Kings have two big road games coming up before they break. They are rematches from November as they take on the Nighthawks, and a big game against the Panthers.

12U A American

The Kings are right in the thick of it with a 6-6 record and 23 points. Delaware Jr. Blue Hens and Snider Hockey are just ahead of them with 25 points. The Bears lead the division with 38 points, then the Phantoms with 36. The Kings had a great November and went 3-0. They shutout the Chester County Cougars 9-0, took down Genesis HC Schuster 7-5, and defeated the Quakers 5-2. James Wright, Porter Stofflet, Owen Gofus, Isaiah Thomas all had 2 goals, and Nolan Schaeffer scored 1 vs the Cougars. Quinten Blackman earned the shutout with 11 saves. In the win against Genesis, Stofflett and Thomas scored two goals again. Sean Hand had a pair, and Schaeffer had 1. The Kings ended the month with a 5-2 win vs the Quakers and they were led by a hat trick effort by Hand. Stofflett and Thomas had the other goals. The Kings leading scorers are Stofflett 12G 9A, Hand 12G 5A, Thomas 12G 4A, Landon Weinreich 2G 7A, Gofus 6G 3A. The Kings will take on the Phantoms and Quakers before the break.

12U A National

The Kings are 3-7-1 with 14 points, 6th in the division. The Kings went 1-1 in November. They lost a close one 3-2 to Genesis HC Garber. Parker Unruh had both goals for the Kings. The Kings answered back with a 7-2 win over the Delco Phantoms. Tyler Neff, and Chase McLaughlin had 2 goals each while, Ethan Duffield, Mason Grimm, and Jake Tomczak had 1. Guarneri made 16 saves in the victory. Duffield leads the Kings in scoring with 8G 5A, followed by Unruh 6G 5A, Neff, 5G 5A, Tomczak 3G 4A, and Tristan Malcom 4G 3A. The Kings have 3 games in December. They will be home against the Delmarva Raptors (9-1) and then a double header on the road against the Wilkes-Barre Jr. Penguins (5-3).  

12U AA

The Kings are 4-9 and in 7th place in the division. The Kings went 1-2 in November. They lost in overtime 4-3 to Snider Hockey. The Kings got back in the win column with a 4-1 win over the Chester County Cougars. Ryan Farrell led the way with 2 goals, Mike Magana and Brynn Cusa also scored and Graham Watkins picked up the win in net. Declan Hatton scored the lone goal in the 2-1 loss to Genesis HC. The Kings have two road games in December against the Delco Phantoms, and Flyers Youth. The leading scorers for the Kings are Farrell 5G 3A, Ottaviano Ricketts 4G 3A, Ryan Menzel 6G 1A, John Burke 2G 4A, and Magana 1G 4A.

14U A American

The Kings are 3-7-1 in 7th place in the division with 14 points. The Kings do have a chance to move up in the standings because they are only 6 points out of 3rd place. Ahead of them are Genesis HC Kucera 15 points, Wilkes-Barre Jr. Penguins 17 points, and the Quakers with 20 points. To catch those teams, they will have to play strong on the road, because the next home game won’t be until January. The Kings went 1-2 in November. They lost 3-1 to Genesis HCK 3-1, and 4-3 to the Quakers. Sandwiched in between the losses was a 5-1 win over the Chester County Cougars. In the win against the Cougars the Kings had five different scorers in the win. Mark Mannherz, Sawyer Mitchell, Josh Franciscus, Drew Shumaker, Kenneth Sykes all hit the back of the net while Connor Millard made 18 saves in the win. Bryce Riberio put the Kings on the board but heading into the 3rd period against the Quakers the Kings were down 4-1. Mitchell and Shumaker scored to give the Kings life, but they fell short in a 4-3 loss. Overall, the leading scorers are Mannherz 5G 7A, Charles Sposetti 6G 4A, Chris Marmaliuc 5G 3A, Keegan Vaughn 5G 3A, and Shumaker 3G 4A.

14U AA

The Kings went 0-2-1 in November and overall, they are 1-9-1 and in 4th place. Brayden Martin, Leonardo Nino, and Cole Daugherty scored for the Kings in a 5-3 loss to Snider Hockey. They followed up that loss with a 2-2 tie against Campus Wild. Lucas Goldyn scored the first goal for the Kings but in the 3rd period they were down 2-1. Nick Tode scored the tying goal for the Kings. They ended November with an ugly 8-1 loss to the division leading Genesis Hockey Club Matthews. The leading scorers this season are Nino 3G 3A. Then the Kings have five players tied with 4 points: Gregory Butler, Jackson Bogus, Brody Martin, Tode, and Bryce Hoisington.

14U B

The Kings continue to battle and face adversity. The main thing is the attitude of the players and the culture. This team continues to show up and give their best every time they hit the ice. They played their best game of the year despite losing 2-0 to Genesis HC. Rylan Coccia made 30 saves for the Kings to keep them in the game. “Even though we are still chasing our first win, the team has performed well during the recent games played, says Coach Keegan.” “Rather than looking at the final score, our staff has been encouraging the players to cheer individual moments during the game and rewarding players with recognition of those efforts post-game. The result has been one of the hardest played games during the ‘My Hockey Tournament’ consolation game.” Some of the players that have received Player of the Game Awards are Rylan Coccia, Reese Steimel, Tyler McGowan, Noah Daddario and Jaxon Wentzel. Keegan went on to say: “Part of the practice work has included guest coaches. Matt Reid from the Pennsylvania Huntsmen Junior Team has been helping the team with skating and competition drills. Also, Bantam AA Coach Tom Engle has been spending time at practice and games. Our sights are now set on putting that first ‘W’ on the board. We will first have to work through a tough upcoming weekend where we play the Bears, but we will have a chance to put what we have been practicing to use against the Chester County Cougars, concluded Keegan.”

 16U A American

The Kings are 5th in the division with a record of 3-8 with 12 points. It was an ugly start to November as the Kings were swept on the road against the Wilkes-Barre Jr. Penguins. They got back in the win column with a 3-0 victory against the Quakers. Gavin Voigt, William Fairbanks, and Kai Harper scored, and Owen Brady made 13 saves in net for the shutout. The Kings are led by Rock Zheng 1G 4A, Michael Stine 2G 3A, Gavin Voigt 3G 1A, William Fairbanks 2G 1A, and Ciaran Sweeney 2G.

16U A National

The Kings went 1-1 in November splitting with the Chester County Cougars. Overall, they are 5-1-1 with 22 points in 2nd place in the division. Snider Hockey is in 1st place with 36 points and an 8-1-2 record. After being shutout by the Cougars, the Kings answered back in the next meeting with a 5-3 win. Matt Martin led the way with 2 goals and Evan Flack had a goal and an assist. Quinn Rafter and Alexander Li also scored, and Lucas Fleuty made 19 saves in net for the win. The leading scorers for the Kings are Connor Bradly 4G 6A, Jayden Goldyn 2G 3A, Pat Anderson 5G, Jack Baran 2G 3A, Matt Martin 3G 2A. The Kings will look to close the gap with Snider Hockey when they faceoff later this month.

Tournament Recap

The 10U A National and 12U A American Exton Kings participated in the 51st Annual Gene Harrington Shootout Classic in Buffalo, New York. The 10U A team went 2-1 in round robin play but lost in the semifinals. The 12U A American team went 1-1-1 and qualified for the finals but came up just short. There was so much to this trip outside of the tournament. Both teams got a private tour of Niagara University’s (Division I Hockey) locker room, and then got to watch Niagara take on Robert Morris University. It was a great weekend, and the teams got the chance to bond and build memories.

The 12U A Team travelled to Pittsburgh for the Veterans Cup. They won their final game 4-3 against the Oshawa Generals. The team also had a great time sightseeing and team bonding while on the trip.
